Meet Alaric Winston

Alaric Winston aka Master Al
Appearance
Alaric Winston had the kind of presence that made people notice him before he ever said a word. Tall and powerfully built, he carried himself with quiet confidence, his broad shoulders filling out the worn brown leather jacket he always favored. His features were rugged and sharply defined—a firm jaw, high cheekbones, and a straight, no-nonsense nose. A neatly trimmed brown beard framed a mouth that looked more used to serious expressions than easy smiles. His thick brown hair was usually swept back from his forehead, slightly tousled but still well-kept, giving him a polished look without overly groomed.
His hazel‑green eyes were probably his most striking feature—steady, observant, and intense beneath heavy brows. The fine lines across his forehead and around his eyes added a sense of maturity, hinting at a man who had lived enough to know exactly who he was. There was something undeniably masculine and commanding about Alaric, but honestly, half his appeal came from his restraint. He never needed to raise his voice or demand attention. The set of his shoulders, the directness of his gaze, and the calm confidence in how he held himself did all the work.
Backstory
Alaric Winston grew up in upstate New York with his German mother, Anke, and his stepfather, Gus. No siblings. His mother taught him German—which later came in handy when he needed to report Gus’s not‑so‑great behavior. He stayed away from home as much as possible growing up; his stepfather was abusive, and Alaric learned early to keep his distance.
He threw himself into sports after school and worked as a German tutor on weekends throughout high school. After graduating, he headed off to New York University, then joined the army and spent two of his four years stationed in Germany. When his tour wrapped up, he returned home, became a firefighter, and eventually joined Masquerade Manor, a private gentlemen’s BDSM club.
Education & Occupation
Alaric attended private schools in upstate New York and played football in high school. He served four years in the army, two of them in Germany. He graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Services Management. His mother’s influence meant he grew up bilingual.
By thirty-five, Alaric served as a Captain at the Amsterdam Fire Department—a role that put him right between hands‑on action and leadership. He commanded a company, oversaw training, managed incident strategy, and set the tone for his crew. He was the guy they looked to when things got loud, chaotic, or dangerous.
At night, he became Master Al—Nighttime Authority. This version of him ran on intentional control, emotional structure, and presence. His dominance wasn’t loud or performative; it was grounded and precise. Master Al read posture, tone, hesitation, and tension instantly. Over the years, he had collared several subs, and at present, he was the most sought‑after Dom at Masquerade Manor.
He commanded without force—people followed him because he was centered, not because he demanded it. He was boundary‑focused, all about rules, consent, and structure. He was meticulous, which was exactly why subs asked for his collar.
A man who knew exactly what he was doing. Someone who could settle nerves with a single look. A presence that felt safe, structured, and unwavering.
Relationships
Love wasn’t something Alaric had ever planned on chasing. He enjoyed spending time with various subs at Masquerade Manor and had collared several in the past. At this point in his life, he wanted a sub, not love—but he wasn’t finding that at the club anymore.
Then Gavin Gallagher showed up—a firecracker of emotions, a storm Alaric never saw coming. Gavin had been broken in ways Alaric understood all too well. The guy was angry and showed it everywhere he went. Against all logic and caution, something between them sparked. And suddenly, the future didn’t seem so impossible.
Personality
Alaric was confident in his decisions and actions, often taking charge in emergencies. He gravitated toward leadership roles—they let him inspire and motivate both his work teams and the people who trusted him at night. He thrived in high-pressure situations, quickly assessing and addressing challenges. He had a strong streak of self-reliance that pushed him to take initiative and maintain control of his environment.
Hobbies & Interests
Alaric spent his days off with the same intensity he brought to everything else—pushing himself to the edge and finding satisfaction in mastery. When he wasn’t pulling shifts at the firehouse, he was usually at the gym, sculpting his already impressive physique through disciplined strength training and functional fitness routines that mirrored the demands of his job.
His love of structure and control carried naturally into his role as a Dom, where he found fulfillment in the balance of authority and care that defined the lifestyle. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding peace in solo camping trips and rock‑climbing excursions that tested both his physical limits and mental fortitude.
He loved riding his motorcycle whenever he had free time.
He had a practical side too, enjoying woodworking in his garage workshop where he built custom furniture with the same precision he brought to his job. Despite his tough exterior, Alaric had a soft spot for his rescue German Shepherd, Duke, whom he trained meticulously and took on long hikes through local trails.
He also loved diving into leadership psychology books and true crime podcasts.
Dreams
Alaric wanted to own part of Masquerade Manor someday. Down the line, he hoped to find a sub to collar—someone who needed him, respected him, and trusted him. Above all, he wanted someone to love.
