His blue eyes—clear, watchful, always taking in more than he lets on—sit behind simple glasses that lend him a thoughtful, studious air.
He’s slim and lightly built, the kind of frame that moves quietly through a room rather than commands it. Most people overlook him until he speaks or looks directly at them. Then something shifts. There’s a quiet magnetism there, a sense of depth and history that makes people lean in without knowing why.

Backstory
Kellen grew up in a home where silence was safer than speaking. By the time he graduated high school—with straight A’s and a secret dream of becoming a librarian—he’d learned to rely on no one but himself. He walked out the door the day he turned eighteen and never went back.
Life on the streets in Los Angeles hardened him in ways he never talks about. When a charismatic older man offered him warmth, safety, and a bed, Kellen mistook it for love. The relationship became transactional fast: affection in exchange for loyalty, loyalty in exchange for crime. Kellen stole because it kept him fed. He stayed because he didn’t know how to leave.
But when his boyfriend pushed him toward darker, more dangerous work, Kellen made the only choice he could. He stole a large sum of money, disappeared in the middle of the night, and ran until the city lights were nothing but memory.
Now he lives in a rented trailer in Green Valley Lake, trying to build a life that doesn’t require looking over his shoulder every five minutes. The anxiety never fully leaves—he still tracks footsteps behind him, still scans every bar entrance, still memorizes exits—but he’s learning how to breathe again.

Personality
Kellen is soft spoken, but not fragile. He listens more than he talks, and he reads people with uncanny precision—tone shifts, micro expressions, the way someone’s hands move when they lie. Years of surviving danger sharpened his instincts into something almost preternatural.
He’s gentle by nature, cautious by necessity. Trust doesn’t come easily, but when he gives it, he gives it fully. He avoids conflict, not because he’s afraid, but because he’s learned that walking away is sometimes the bravest choice.
There’s a quiet steel beneath all that softness. A resilience that kept him alive when he had no one. A stubborn streak that surfaces when he’s cornered. And a loneliness he hides behind humor and deflection whenever someone gets too close.

Kellen never made it to college, though he wanted to. Books were his escape growing up, and he still carries one everywhere he goes. Adam is steady, grounded, and carries a quiet strength that pulls Kellen in despite every instinct telling him to stay guarded.

Backstory
Adam was raised in Fremont, California, in a strict religious household where obedience was expected and deviation was punished. He learned early to hide anything that didn’t fit the mold. Not from shame, but from lifelong conditioning to stay protected.

His police training sharpened him into someone hyper competent and adaptable. He reads people with precision. He stays calm under pressure. He can shift from charming to intimidating to invisible depending on what the situation requires. Undercover work intensified those instincts.

Even in a quiet mountain town, Adam never fully relaxes. He’s always scanning, always assessing, always anticipating the next threat.

Adam graduated from California State University with police training and joined the local police department. He continued his education while working, taking specialized courses that allowed him to move into undercover operations.

Occupation
Before becoming a police officer, Adam worked as a bouncer—experience that later became invaluable in undercover assignments.

He excelled quickly in law enforcement and was promoted into undercover work. His FBI undercover current assignment places him in Green Valley Lake, California, where he poses as a bouncer at a local bar while investigating a drug-smuggling operation.

As a bouncer:
He’s friendly and approachable, but unmistakably authoritative. Locals trust him; troublemakers avoid him. He blends in just enough to seem like a regular guy, but he’s always working the room. He rents a trailer for six months as part of his cover.

Relationships
Adam never had time for long-term relationships. He had one Daddy/boy relationship, but ended. His working hours were brutal. His emotional walls were high. His hookups were discreet and always far from where he worked.

He longed for something deeper—a boy he could care for, guide, and build a life with—but the right person never appeared, and the job always came first.

Until Kellen.

Possessiveness he doesn’t fully understand. When he cares, he cares intensely—and that intensity can scare someone who’s been hurt before.
